I INTERNATIONAL VOCAL COMPETITION
VOX IUVENTAE

AECC “National School of Arts” Riga Cathedral Choir School is a place where young voices and talents grow up. Studying with experienced teachers, students regularly perform in the best Latvian concert halls, participate in international vocal competitions and masterclasses with world-class opera singers – Marina Rebeka, Valdis Jansons, etc.

The Riga Cathedral Choir School is launching the 1st International Vocal Competition “Vox iuventae” to mark the 20th year of the founding of the vocal department. The aim of the competition is to promote the professional development of young singers of academic music on an international level. The competition takes place in three rounds, and in the final round the contestants perform with the Emils Darzins Music School Symphony Orchestra.

The competition is open to singers aged 16-21: APPLICATION FORM

Round I remotely – until 29 November 2024 (application deadline extended)
Round II at the Emils Darzins Concert Hall – 12 February 2025
Finals at the Emils Darzins Concert Hall – 14 February 2025

Vocal masterclasses: On February 13, 2025, the best participats of the Round II who do not qualify for the finals, will be invited to take part in vocal masterclasses. The young singers will have the opportunity to improve their skills by working with the repertoire selected for the competition with internationally renowned vocal teachers, members of the competition jury – Snezana Nena Brzakovic and Vladimiras Prudnikovas.

Contestants may choose to stay in a nearby hotel or with a host family.
